The DAR LUZ project was one of the installations at a recent light art walkway in Eindhoven, where the textile skin operated as a projection screen for staging a dynamically controlled light show. A number of sensors detected the movements of visitors and transmitted these to the LED spotlights which responded with individually changing colour sequences and intensity of lighting effects.

Space Dance in the Tube

Space Dance in the Tube

Space Dance in the Tube” is an experience and an expression of movement, a new form of communication and awareness based on Butoh dance. The body is not a tool for expressing a story, the body is a story in itself. A transparent fabric tube made of special stretching material is suspended by ropes and used as an architectural object for this demonstration. The feelings and information participants receive by touching and interacting with the Tube from the inside become an extension of their body

The Italian-Singaporean studio Lanzavecchia + Wai, have designed ‘Fragmented 01 + 02′, a series of furniture types which replace the solid side panels of typical storage units with bands of flexible fabric. This material choice not only creates a textural pleated surface, but on a practical level, it allows the units to be accessed from all sides, at any point.

Feminine & masculine, fluid & rigid, lightness & mass, expression & function, tactile pleasure from usage, the Spaziale family would like to invite themselves into your lives and homes, and perhaps have a little fun together.

Flourescent Elastic Chairs

Deformation (Chair)

Deformation (Chair)

By stretching a knitted fabric onto a three-dimensional frame, the fabric does not copy the frame but becomes a new three-dimensional form over the frame. The puffy effect of the textile has the influence that when the textile stretches, a new background colour appears. In other words, when a person sits in the chair it changes colour, and shape.
